Therapy

I like to say that when life gives you lemons,

go to therapy.

And boy oh boy, can life throw us a lot of lemons!

Forget everything you’ve seen or heard about therapy, and picture this.

Imagine you’re chatting with someone about something in your life that’s getting you down, or that you want to improve or change.

The person you’re chatting to is super friendly, understanding, but most of all, she isn’t judging you about anything you’re saying.

You breathe a sigh of relief after the conversation, knowing that not only have you let some steam off your chest, you’ve also walked away with some practical tools to get you back on your feet and moving forward.

THAT is what therapy with me is like.

I am here to champion your wellbeing.

So much more than traditional talk therapy alone - as a holistic therapist, I work with you to support all five of the elements of wellbeing that add up to a thriving life:

  • Career wellbeing: You like what you do every day.

  • Social wellbeing: You have meaningful friendships in your life.

  • Financial wellbeing: You manage your money well.

  • Physical wellbeing: You have energy to get things done.

  • Community wellbeing: You like where you live.

In all honesty, I don’t believe that therapy should be anything scary or dull.

At the end of the day, you’re doing something to improve your health & wellbeing, and there’s nothing scary, wrong, or ‘weak’ about that!

In fact, I myself have also sought therapy – multiple times, and with multiple different therapists. As someone who has gone through this process, I understand the importance of finding someone you trust and gel with, as well as someone who’s going to help you move towards your goals.

Whilst there are so many different types of therapy out there, I’ll let you in on some of my personal favourites, which I often use with my clients:

  • Acceptance and Commitment Therapy

  • Solutions-Focused Therapy

  • Walk-and-Talk Therapy

  • Cognitive Behaviour Therapy

Here’s what some of my clients are saying about therapy:

There are three main ways we can do therapy together:

in the office (in Caringbah, NSW), online via Zoom, or via Walk-and-Talk (Ramsgate & Kogarah, NSW).

Finding the right counsellor can take some time, and it’s important you connect with someone before diving into therapy with them.

Do you have questions about therapy with me?
You can email me here and I’ll get back to you in 24-48 hours.

Book in for a free 15 min consult to see if we’d be a good fit and kickstart our therapy journey together!

 FAQs

  • In-person sessions in Caringbah are $135, and Telehealth and Walk-and-Talk sessions are $120 (prices not inclusive of GST).

Alternatively, after your first session with me, you can purchase a pack of 6 sessions for $700, saving you up to $110.

Although these sessions are not covered by Medicare, your private health insurance might cover some of the cost – you’d need to check with them first.

  • No referral needed. Just use the link below to book in a free consult, and we take it from there.

  • At the moment, I only see clients aged 18+

  • The most common topics I help my clients through are relationship breakdowns, figuring out career/life direction, navigating conflict in relationships, improving body image, staying on top of self-care, and managing stress & anxiety.

  • Book a free 15-minute chat so that we can see if we’d be a good fit! After that, we book in your first appointment at a time that suits you. Alternatively, get in touch at hello@merakiwellbeing.com.au

  • This is a totally different, super casual way of doing therapy! We meet at an outdoor spot and go for a walk while we have our therapy session. I’m usually in casual or sporty gear for these sessions, so if we run into anyone you know, they won’t be able to tell we’re in therapy!

  • Currently, I am only offering Walk-and-Talk therapy in Sydney (in Kogarah and Ramsgate).

  • For the most part, yes! I’ll need to break confidentiality if you’re in danger, if a child is at risk of harm, or if I’m requested to by a court of law.

  • Absolutely not. We might not be the right fit, and that’s okay! It is way more important that you find a therapist that you feel totally comfortable with, and if that’s not me, I promise I won’t be offended!
